IMPHAL, July 10: Along with registering a case in connection with the killing of N Rebika Chanu of Heirok Part II Tomal Makhong, who was found dead after she went out of her residence to see local mela on June 5 evening, Heirok Police have framed charge sheet of the case.
This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who also holds the Home portfolio while responding to query raised by MLA of Oinam Constituency Dr I Ibohalbi during question-answer session of the last sitting of the 11th Session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
Gaikhangam said that a fast track court has not been constituted to speed up trial of the case but the prosecution of the case had been submitted charge sheet framed after Heirok Police Station registered a case under FIR No 7 (6) 2015 HRX PS U/S 302/376 IPC.
The charge sheet will be submitted to the court for trial after checking it by the prosecution, he conveyed.
He assured the House that necessary steps will be taken up to file charge sheet on time in such case in future.
