KANGPOKPI, Jul 16: In an unfortunate fire accident one shop in a rented building has been ravaged while destroying properties worth around Rs. 20 lacs including cash at Motbung village in Sadar Hills yesterday.
The incident happened yesterday night at around 8:30 pm.
The shop owner has been identified as Vangkholal Lhouvum while the building where he had rented a room for the shop belongs to one Paocha Lhouvum of the same village.
The shop owner, Vangkholal Lhouvum suspected electric short circuit to be the main cause of the incident while adding that the devastated fire destroyed a properties worth Rs. 20 lacs approximately including Rs. 63, 000/- in cash.
He further said that they called the Fire service at Kangpokpi but unfortunately it arrived at the spot after everything was damaged.
An FIR has been lodged at Gamnom-Sapormeina PS.
