KANGPOKPI, July 23: The iron bridge over the Imphal River along the Motbung `“ Pukhao road, the only rural road connectivity in the entire area had been collapsed yesterday early morning.
The 70 feet (approx.) long Iron Bridge has been the only connectivity for the entire populace particularly the farmer community for their survival.
Speaking to media person this evening at Motbung, SL. Lamthang, Chairman, Motbung VA alleged that the concerned department failed to maintained quality in the construction of the bridge ignoring the importance of it for the people.
Drawing the attention of the local MLA Ngamthang Haokip, who is also the IFCD Minister and the concerned PWD department SL. Lamthang continued that due to the collapsed of the bridge Bolkot, Thingsat, Pukhao area and other villages has been totally cut off from other the world and render tremendous hardships to the farmers`™ community.
The VA Chairman of Motbung urged the state Government and the concerned PWD department to restore the bridge at the earliest possibility in the interest of the people.
