IMPHAL, July 26: A condolence meeting of artistes, students, teaching and non-teaching staff of Laishram Mani Goura Sangeet Akademy, Thoubal, Wangkhem held on July 25 deeply mourned the sad demise of senior most guru of Lairik Haiba, Konthoujam Ibomcha Singh who passed away at his residential place at Angtha.
He was the prominent artist of Lairik Haiba of the All India Radio, Palace Compound and Doordarshan Kendra, Porompat. He died at the age of 85.
Sagolshem Tomba Singh, principal of Laishram Mani Goura Sangeet Academy presided over the meeting. In the condolence meeting, Laishram Shyamishore Singh, president of LMGSA spoke about the contribution of guru Shri Laishram Konthoujam Ibomcha Singh towards the development of Lairik Thiba and Haiba, and his zeal to develop young generation artists. He expressed regrets over his sudden demise and prayed for his departed soul.
