BISHNUPUR, August 14: Extending solidarity to the demand for enforcement of Inner Line Permit System or similar law to protect the indigenous people, a sit-in-protest cum public meeting was organized by Keinou Apunba Nupi Lup at Keinou Keithel, Bishnupur district today.
Convener of JCILPS Womens`™ Wing Ng Nganbi; president of PANDAM Yumnamcha Dilip; Pradhan of Keinou Gram Panchayat W Homeshwor; Ward Members and locals of Keinou were present at the protest demonstration cum public meeting during which slogans such as `Implement ILPS in Manipur`™, Punish police personnel involved in the killing of Robinhood`™, `Long live Manipur`™ etc were chanted.
NNN adds: JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sapam Robinhood today organized a mass cycle rally today in support of ILP demand in Manipur and also demanding appropriate punishment to the police officer who was responsible in the death of Robinhood.
Held in the morning and attended by hundreds of peddlers, the cycle rally took off from Lamlong Bridge and also concluded at the same spot. The rally through various key areas of Imphal namely Porompat, Nongmeibung, Wangkhei, Kongba, Singgjamei, Kwakeithel, Tera, Uripok, Thangmeiband etc.
Various supporters came in streets and cheered on the rally participants by assisting with drinking water and other aids.
