Two prosecution witnesses depose in Meghen case

IMPHAL, August 18: Along with producing chairman of the outlawed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) RK Meghen alias Sanayaima and several other key leaders of the outfit before the Special Court of National Investigation Agency (NIA) Guwahati today, deposition of two prosecution witnesses of the arrest case was taken.

The outfit leaders are on trial in the court based on the charge sheets framed by NIA against them.

The two prosecution witnesses are identified as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of NIA SN Bakshi and Superintendent of Police of NIA Ashim Srivastava.

DSP SN Bakshi is the prosecution witness no 79 while SP Ashim Srivastava is the prosecution witness no 80 of the case.

During their deposition in the court, the two prosecution witnesses gave statements in connection with the case.

The two witnesses were cross examined by counsels of the accused in the case.
