THOUBAL, August 19: Showing support to the people`™s demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System or any similar law in the State, three students have launched fast unto death agitation at Durga Puja Mandop, Thoubal Wangmataba from today.
The three hunger strikers are identified as Laitonjam Anamika Devi (game & sports secretary of Waikhom Mani Girls College, Thoubal) of Charangpat; Khudongbam Rabi Meetei (president of DESAM Thoubal) of Heirok and Sapam Rabita Chanu (student of Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School) of Thoubal Wangmataba Mathak.
They said that people have been demanding the ILPS or similar law in the State but the government has been taking the demand lightly, which is unfortunate and condemnable.
The three students vowed to continue the hunger strike till the ILP or a similar law is implemented.
A large number of students and women folk are manning the three hunger strikers at the venue.
