IMPHAL, August 22: Dr Sekharjit Singh who was relieved from the Director post of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has submitted a written statement to Deputy Director (Administration), RIMS Y Rajendra Singh today requesting he be reinstates as the Director of the premier institute.
Sources said Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India in compliance with an order (WP/C No 638 of 2014) passed by High Court of Manipur on July 31 last regarding the relieve of Dr Shekharjit from the Director post had ruled that whether to or not to reinstate the doctor in his earlier post will depend on order of Rules and Regulations of RIMS to be passed within three weeks.
Responding to the plea of the doctor, RIMS Director has submitted a statement to Dr Shekharjit today itself informing him that he cannot be reinstated as the Director before the completion of the three weeks time set by the court as per the direction of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and until and unless the concerned Ministry issue an order regarding his reinstatement, the sources stated.
