Sadar Hills CSOs warns on low rate tender of 272-287 Km. sanction work

KANGPOKPI, Aug.22: Civil Society Organizations of Sadar Hills including Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, KSO Sadar Hills, TSA Sadar Hills and KWU Sadar Hills today tenaciously warned on below scheduled rate tenderers in the ongoing sanction work tender of 272-287 Km.

Expressing deep concerned over the depilated road condition of National Highways particularly within Taphou Kuki and Gamgiphai in Sadar Hills the civil society organizations of Sadar Hills censured the unrefined maintenance of the highway for the sorry state.

Speaking to media person this evening at Kangpokpi Spokesperson of Sadar Hills CSOs Lamcha Chongloi said that it has been a matter of great concern to the public of Sadar Hills particularly those residing along NH-2 between Taphou Kuki and Gamgiphai that the disgraceful condition of National Highway completely failed to give a hassle free smooth riding.

He continue that the highway present the shocking dismal pictures of untold misery of the road users as well as hands-off attitude of the concerned contractors while tendering in a much low rates quoted to get the works.

Lamcha Chongloi lamented that the practice of below schedule rate quoted by the contractors while trying to get the works at the time of tendering is the key factor for the improper execution of the sanctioned works and partial maintenance of the highway.

It has been learn from a reliable source that tendering for the sanction work of 272 `“ 287 Km. is current going on said the Spokesperson while adding that any below schedule rate tender will not be entertained at any cost in the interest of the general public.

The Sadar Hills CSOs Spokesperson further reminded that the execution of sanctioned work has been observe and experience by all and sundry that quality as well as quantity is not stringently adhered to during implementation of any works under PWD, BRO and PMGSY in the state.

Lamcha also maintained that the civil society organizations of Sadar Hills have resolved to firmly supervise any new work taken up along the National Highway in Sadar Hills to ensure the contractors and engineers are not making fool of the public.

While warning the concerned contractors to avoid tendering below the scheduled rate in the ongoing sanction work of 272-287 Km. the Sadar Hills CSOs Spokesperson asserted that any contractors who obtained the said work programme through low rates tendering will not be allowed to execute the work programme and deal accordingly so as to avoid low quality maintenance.

Therefore, we appeals to the prospective tenderers for the sanction work of the 272-287 Km. not to quoted unreasonably low rates to get the work and the engineers of PWD/BRO to properly supervise the work irrespective of the rates quoted by the contractors said Lamcha Chongloi.
