IMPHAL, September 11: Based on specific inputs, an operation was launched by troops of Red Shield Division on September 8 in general area of M Songgel of Churachandpur district, which led to apprehension of five KNLF cadres, according to a release of PRO (Defence).
The cadres were identified as Army No. 137, Ngangam, 19 son of Dongjang of Gamphajang village, Chandel district; Army No. 16, Francis, 18 son of Lulun of Bongjoi village, Chandel; Army No. 1012, Galhang, 23 son of Lambu of Tengnoupal, Chandel; Army No 1041, Minlun, 23 son of Henkholen of Tollen village, Churachandpur and Army No 107, Arjun, 24 alias Kakap son of Muljathang of T Nampao village, Chandel.
Two 9 mm Carbines Machine Guns with one magazine (Regd No LS 80146 and SOS 0020222), one 9 mm Pistol with magazine and eight 9 mm live rounds were recovered from the apprehendees. The cadres and the recovery were handed over to Imphal (West) Police Station on September 9, it said.
