IMPHAL, November 20: Security forces apprehended six militant cadres belonging to different groups during counter insurgency operation conducted in different part of the state.
A statement issued by PRO Police, RK Tutusana, the Imphal East district police commandos arrested two cadres of PREPAK faction in separate incidents.
On November 17, the first arrest was made by the district police commandos during frisking and checking duty at Ahallup area, identified as one Maibam Abung Singh alias Khoimei, 36, son of (L) M Janaki Singh of Soibam Leikai Khalabung Leirak.
It said that investigation has revealed his involvement in transportation of arms and explosive from different places and also extorted money raising party fund.
Incriminating articles were seized from his possession, it said.
The district police commandos also arrested another cadre of PREPAK PRO the next day from his residence identified as Joysangkar alias Loyumba alias Khounang, 28, son of Inaocha of Lairikyengbam Leikai Makha Leikai.
In separate incident another team of the Imphal East district police commandos arrested three KCP cadres from in separate incidents.
The statement said that on November 19 the first KCP cadre was arrested from Mantripukhri bazar area, identified as one Md Habibur, 28, son of Md Abdul of Yairipok Ningthounai Mayai Laikai.
It further said the next day another two KCP cadre were arrested following revelation Md Habibur.
The arrested cadre has been identified as one Md Kurban, 28, son of Md Jamaluddoin of Kairang Umang Leikai and Md Harish alis Amuba, 25, son of (L) Md Feroz of Kairang Umang Leikai.
Incriminating articles were seized from them, it said.
On November 18, a combined team of Imphal East district police and 16 Assam Rifles also reportedly arrested a cadre of RPF/PLA during an operation conducted in and around Nongshum.
The RPF/PLA cadre has been identified as one Wahengbam Tombi Meitei alias Brangnu, 23, son of (L) W Sanatomba Meitei of Keibi Heirak Mapal at present statying at Nongshum Mayai Leikai.
