IMPHAL, Dec 4: A team of bomb expert of the police exploded a powerful Improvised Explosive Device at a safe place this late evening around 7:15. The IED weighing around 2kg was found planted on a roadside near a foot-hill at Iroi Yotpi in Pukhao Irampham under Sagolmang Police Station to be triggered using a remote control device.
The explosive was detected by farmers coming from the fields who informed an Imphal East Commando team.
The commando team along with the bomb expert defuse the bomb and later exploded it at a safe place, informed a source.
