MSPC submits affidavit before HC

IMPHAL, Dec 4: The Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) has submitted its affidavit to the High Court of Manipur in connection with the case lodged against the commission’s failure to conduct DPC to fill 71 vacant posts of inspectors in the Manipur Police department.

Meanwhile, the HC has fixed the next hearing on December 16.

The WP case no. 168 of 2015, was filed by the eligible candidates, sub-inspectors.

It may be recalled that as on October 2014, there were 64 vacant posts in the Manipur police department. In addition to that on May 6, 2015 seven posts of Inspectors were lying vacant bringing the grand total at 71 inspectors.

Subsequent, upon the filing of the case the HC directed the MPSC chairman to conduct the DPC to fill up the vacant post of inspectors within two months times after the date of filing the case.

However, the MSPC has been ignoring the directives of the HC till date without giving feasible reasons.
