IMPHAL, December 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with the two newly elected BJP MLAs after the day’s parliament session, informed a BJP source.
The meeting occurred around 2:15pm at the PM’s residence.
The Thongju and Thangmeiband MLAs were accompanied by BJP Manipur president Th Chaoba who introduced the two to the Prime Minister.
The source said the Prime Minister lauded the two newly elected MLAs and appreciated the people of Manipur especially Thongju and Thangmeiband constituencies for supporting the BJP.
It is also learnt that Modi also expressed his love of the North East States and especially Manipur and assured more developmental projects for the region.
The Prime Minister while assuring all his support also advised the two to build a good rapport and relation with the people and to take up welfare measures for the people, informed the source.
DoNER Minister Dr Jitendra and BJP Manipur unit general secretary M Asnikumar were also present at the meeting.
The BJP Manipur delegate also urged the Prime Minister to look into the grievances of the people of Manipur to which the latter assured all possible help at the highest level.
Modi also assured to extend an invite to the two MLAs for a meeting in the near future.
