IMPHAL, December 19: BJP Manipur RTI Cell convenor M Poireihenba has filed an RTI application to the principal secretary home on December 16 seeking details of the recruitment process of jammandars and sub-inspectors under the Home department conducted in 2010 of which the results were declared on in 2014.
Poireihenba said the BJP consider the Home department to be a very crucial and important department as it is involved with enforcing law and order in the State.
However, it is very unfortunate that controversies had surrounded the recruitment process in such an important department, he said during a press meet held at the BJP head office today.
Stating that he wanted to find the malpractices committed during the recruitment process, he said he has sought details of the recruitment process of jamandars and SIs which was conducted in 2010 and the results declared only in 2014.
The application is an attempt to encourage a clean image of the department he said adding that it was applied under RTI Act u/s 6 (1).
BJP Manipur general secretary media L Basanta Sharma said the RTI application has been filed seeking the names lists of candidates who had appeared in the DPC conducted for direct recruitment of jamandars and Sis on April 25, 2010.
The application has also sought detail marks obtained by each candidates in the physical, written and Viva Voce, a detailed report of the 87 selected jamandars and SIs following an enquiry carried out by Addl DGP (Home Guard) T Pachuau, he said.
At the same time, BJP Manipur general secretary (Administration) M Asnikumar said the party is also demanding a white paper of the work details executed by the MAHUD during the last 10 years.
He added the party is also taking the January 21 local bodies election as a mini Assembly election and around 182 candidates have already been approved.
He added BJP national general secretary (Co-ordination) Ram madhop will be visiting the State during the last week of December in connection with the January election.
He will monitor the party’s election campaign, Asnikumar said and also expressed hope that the BJP will win maximum seats in the upcoming civic polls.
