IMPHAL, December 22: The Clean Politics Mission has countered the clarification issued by the RIMS director on the issue of ‘question leakage’ of the written test for recruitment of 116 staff nurses of RIMS.

Speaking to media persons at the Manipur Press Club today, convenor Chongtham Bijoy Singh pointed out the RIMS authority has issued a nine-point clarification on which was carried as an advertisement by a local daily in its December 22 edition.

However, the clarification is purely just an eye wash and the key issues have not been touched in the clarification, he charged.

He said two points needs to be reacted and in the first point the director admits that question papers were kept in the airport for a night.

He continued that clarification of the RIMS director that any leakage at the airport would not be the responsibility of RIMS is only an attempt to create an escape route.

He further demanded as to why the question papers were kept in the custody of RIMS for three and half days as in the earlier instances question papers were kept at a police station under lock and key.

Bijoy further questioned the authority of the person who set the question papers and if he was competent enough to set the question paper.

While observing that the RIMS authority cannot claim of being transparent if it cannot publish the full particulars of the written test successful candidates, he demanded the particulars of the candidates.

Reacting to another clarification of the RIMS authority that the issue of leakage of question papers came on three days after the examination and not before or during the examination, he said if the allegations are found to be true and evidences of leaking of question papers surfaces days after the examination, the whole process could be quashed by a court of law.

Stating that the RIMS director had admitted in the clarification that 19 iron chests were opened in the presence of media persons, he demanded when and where the 20th or the last chest was opened.

He further questioned why the RIMS authority is silent on the allegations of large scale bribery during the recruitment process.
