IMPHAL, December 23: Although election campaigns for the ensuing civic polls have already started, the State government is continuing to issue notifications for recruitment in some departments like Power and Revenue, BJP Manipur general secretary (media) Laimayum Basanta Sharma said today during a flag hoisting ceremony of a BJP candidate for the Lamlai Municipal Council ward number 2 W Nungsitombi at her residence.

He said the BJP will submit a complaint in this regard to the concerned State Election Commission and urge to look into the matter which is a total violation of the election model code of conduct.

He said issuing notification for the recruitment at this moment when the civic polls are just round the corner is unfortunate.

Basanta continued although huge amounts of fund have been allocated to MAHUD for development of the municipal areas, there is no development in the areas till date.

He further demanded a white paper on the expenditure of budgets allocated to the department during the last five years.

Meanwhile, the BJP candidate for Lamlai Municipal Council ward number 9 Ibomcha also hoisted the party flag at his residence today with BJP Manipur RTI Cell convenor Mongjam Poireihenba in presence.
