IMPHAL, Jan 4: Seeking immediate reliefs for the ten families whose shops were charred to ashes in a devastating fire that broke out at Medical Gate, Tamenglong Headquarter on January 1 night, the Joint Action Committee for Tamenglong Fire Accident (s) submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Deputy Commission Tamenglong.
In the memorandum, the JAC claimed that the fire that broke out at around 6 pm destroyed varieties of goods worth over Rs 1.33 crores rendering them shelter less.
It lamented that the aggrieved victims of the devastating fire are taking shelter in other houses.
Furthermore, there were total of 18 victims whose shops were dismantled in the course of dousing the fire and preventing spread of the fire. They badly need shelter, foods, clothing etc now for sustenance of their lives, it stated.
Saying that there are school children numbering about 50 whose final exam is coming closer, the memorandum signed by chairman and secretary of the JAC requested the CM to extend immediate reliefs to the victims affected by the fire.
A copy of the memorandum was also submitted to Deputy CM, Chairman of Tamenglong ADC and MLA of 53-Tamenglong constituency.
