ZB-AMN condoles earthquake victims

IMPHAL, January 10: The Zeliangrong Baudi, AMN deeply mourn and extended heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in the massive earthquake that jolted Manipur on January 4.

According to a release of ZB-AMN, the tribal body strongly stands with the bereaved families and pays sympathy to the injured.

It appreciated the Centre, State government and other philanthropy organizations for prompt action taken by extending support to the victims of the natural disaster.

Manipur lies in the high risk seismic zone known as Earthquake Zone V which means very high damage risk zone that may trigger more than 8 Richter scale, it said.

It is high time for the State government to be alert and prescribe all the engineers, contractors and other concern agencies to maintain standard-quality works of earthquakes resistance on constructing the railways, pucca-building-houses, bridges etc as such natural disaster may take occur in the future.

Urging the State government and other agencies to further conduct the rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations to reach out to all the affected areas and provide all possible help to the bereaved families particularly in Tamenglong district, the ZB-AMN appealed to all the concern authority and agency to work sincerely and maintain good quality of works wherever they are assigned to avoid such catastrophes in the near future.
