IMPHAL, January 19: The Commission of Inquiry probing the death of Class XI student Sapam Robinhood during a students’ rally on July 8 will conduct a spot visit on January 22 of the site where Robinhood was injured in police action.
Concerned police authorities will also accompany the commission during the spot visit. Members of the JAC formed in connection with Robinhood’s death, his parents and others will also participate in the spot visit.
Commission of Inquiry Justice Mutum Binoy Kumar Singh’s secretary Rajen who is the deputy secretary Revenue has issued an official notification in this connection.
It may be mentioned that 16-year old Sapam Robinhood Singh son of S Romesh Singh of keishamthong Thangjam Leirak who was staying at his mother’s residence at Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai was injured in police action during a students’ rally around 1:20pm on July 8, 2015. He died at the hospital.
The incident had occurred just about 2 km on the north of Porompat Police Station at Hatta Minuthong.
It may be mentioned that in connection with the death of the young student, the Porompat Police had registered a suo-moto case under FIR No 205 (7) 2015 PRT PS u/s 147/148/149/353 IPC and 7 Criminal Law Amendment Act on the same day as the incident.
It may also be mentioned in 13 police personnel including the investigation officer of the case have been crossed examined before the commission of inquiry in connection with the case.
