IMPHAL, Jan 27: Meiteis of Myanmar who came to attend the 287th Puya Meithaba commemoration were today felicitated by the International Observation Committee on Puya Meithaba (ICOP) at Manipur Press Club today.
Speaking at the function, as chief guest MLA of Heingang Assembly Constituency N Biren opined that the misunderstanding between the communities residing in the State is due to the destruction of the ‘Puyas’.
He said it is the need of the hour for all communities to unite and pursue the history of Manipur.
Biren lauded the steps taken up by the ICOP trying to find a connection with the Manipuris inhabiting different parts of the world.
The Myanmar Meitei delegates who came to attend the function are Kamalar, Sasi Devi, Naothem Yaima, Naothem Yaima, Kamala Iwar, Bing Bing and Shyam Sharma.
