IMPHAL, February 16: The Chingai AC block Congress Committee has urged the local MLA, Presho Shimray to ensure speedy and proper completion of the development works taken up under his initiative for the welfare of the people.
Speaking to media persons during a press conference today at the Manipur Press Club, president of the committee, PS Vangam claimed that the contractors and agencies taking up the projects are not maintaining proper quality checks and have reduced the width of the Inter Village Roads constructed.
He said the projects under the PMGSY undertaken in the constituency which was awarded to contractors through e-tender should be completed at the earliest with proper quality maintenance.
He continued people should not blame the MLA if the contractors are not maintaining quality as the MLA has initiated various developmental projects such as the 25 IVRs, five bailey bridges.
However, most of the works are yet to be completed or proper quality has not been maintained by the contractors, he added.
The constituency lies in a remote area and need more developments, he added.
