CHURACHANDPUR, February 17: The Army station at Khuga Dam, Khuga Battalion under Red Shield Division, today gifted Wheel Chair to differently abled students of VK Tona College, Churachandpur district located at HQ Veng.

A team of the Khuga Battalion led by their Company SM and Company doctor delivered the wheel chair to the College Principal K Vungsuanthang at the College premises in the morning during a very brief program.

The story of the humanitarian act started with a differently abled girl Chongngaigchoi studying commerce in the college, come to the notice of the CO of Khuga Battalion.

On seeing the girl`s pride and determination, the CO personally visited the girl at her rented house at Tuinom Village then and offered her to facilitate artificial leg but the condition was such that the girl can`t have artificial leg and so he bought her a complete uniform instead as she already had a wheel chair.

In fact, inspired by this and as per the wish of the College Principal to station a wheel chair so that they can accommodate more differently abled students in the future (VK Tona College is the only college that admits differently abled students and have a differently abled friendly ramp), the Khuga battalion donated a wheel chair for the college.

The principal expressed his appreciation to the noble deed of the Khuga Battalion who in the past had also helped their disabled student and wish that the Almighty will acknowledge their deed and be with them and that his collage will be immensely help to accommodate more underprivileged student through their noble work.
