IMPHAL, February 17: Mapari Ningsingkol Lup (MANIL) today observed 7th death anniversary of the then SDO of Kasom Khullen Dr Thingnom Kishan, revenue mandal Yumnam Token and driver Aribam Rajen at their memorial site at Gandhi Ghat, Uripok.
Public Health and Engineering minister I Hemochandra attended the observation as the chief guest, MANIL chairman S Tekendrajit Singh as president and Manipur Medical Council president Dr S Rajendra Singh and MMC registrar and Ayush director Dr K Lokendro as guests of honour.
Speaking at the function, Hemochandra appealed to the people against finding faults with others and instead work towards bringing peace and unity for a better tomorrow.
The minister also spoke on the great sacrifices of the three.
It may be recalled that the then SDO of Kasom Khullen Sub-division, Dr Th Kishan and his two sub-ordinate staff were abducted and bludgeoned to death by some armed cadres of NSCN (IM) on February 17, 2009.
They were abducted from Ukhrul and their bodies were recovered from a place in Senapati district.
As part of the observation, a blood donation camp was also held and over 30 individuals participated in the camp.
