IMPHAL, February 19: The BJYM Manipur Pradesh has claimed that the Manipur Development Society has completed only 30 percent of three integrated tourist circuits in Nambol, although the government has already submitted its fund utilization certificate.

A team of the BJYM Manipur Pradesh today toured the site of the three integrated tourist circuits.

The BJYM said that the projects are not completed even though the completion deadline of 36 months has already been passed.

He said out of the Rs 774.75 lakhs sanctioned by the Centre, a total of Rs 619.64 lakhs has already been released to the State.

The work was rewarded to the MDS in 2011-12, however, the projects are still incomplete, the BJYM said.

The projects are tourist lodge, parking lane, compound fencing at an estimated cost of Rs 596.55 lakhs at Chingphumacha, construction of wayside amenities, parking lane and toilet at a total estimated cost of Rs 57.60 lakhs at Chingphuachouba near Ishok of Nambol and the third at the historic place Nambol Koiriphaba for construction of cafeteria, toilet and parking lane with an estimated cost of Rs 120.40 lakhs, the total being Rs 774.55 lakhs.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the spot visit, BJYM president O Malesh said that we have collected the detailed report of the projects as well as reports from the local residents. It is very unfortunate that the Congress government has neglected the projects, he said.

He said the detailed reports will be submitted to the concerned Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and tourism government of India.

This will reveal the misutilisation of central funds by the Congress government, he said.

It is the time for the people to decide whether the State government is doing the good or the bad, he said.

He further charged that the Ibobi government has mismanaged a total of Rs 120 crores sanctioned by the Centre for development of tourism in between Nambol to Moirang.
