IMPHAL, March 5: A day after the Manipur Postal Services employees began an indefinite cease-work strike demanding transfer of Director Postal Service, Imphal Manipur division Vinod Kumar at the earliest against his “wilful harassment of a woman staff” another woman employee has lodged a complaint against the director accusing him of molestation.
The All India Postal Employees Union P III, PIV Manipur Division Branch, Imphal and AIGDSU Manipur Division Branch, Imphal has filed a complaint today before the OC Women PoliCe Sation Lamphelpat charging Director Postal Service, Imphal Manipur division Vinod Kumar of physically assaulting and molesting a woman staff on December 12, 2015.
The said incident occurred at the Centenary Hall of the Manipur University, while the woman staff was arranging a Philately Exhibition which was organised by the Department of Post under Manipur Division on December 12, according to the complaint.
Speaking to the IFP in this regard, the All India Postal Employees Union P-III and P-IV Manipur Divisional Branch, Imphal Organisation Secretary N Gojendra said that they will continue their ongoing cease work agitation unless their demands are met by the concerned authority.
He said the delay in filing the complaint was because the women staff was afraid of the officer and the consequences, and that she decided to come out only after hearing the complaint of the other staff.
He said that the National Federation of Postal Employee Union has given positive response on their demands and hope that they will soon translate the demands.
The All India postal Employees union P-III & P-IV Manipur Divisional Branch, Imphal has been demanding to take appropriate actions to take initiated by the circle administration to transfer the responsible officer from Manipur division.
