IMPHAL, Dec 7: The Governor of Manipur, Gurbacharan Jagat as an act of appreciation to their contribution as polo players today invited five polo veterans for tea at the Raj Bhava in the evening at 3:30 pm.
An official release said, the five veterans, all above 80, are identified as Konsam apabi Singh of Charangpat mayai Leikai, maibam Samu Singh of Leimapokpam Khunpham Leikai, Senjam Mani Singh of Khwai Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak, Elangbam Thanil Singh of Oinam Sawombung makha Leikai and Khangembam Amuyaima Singh of Kumbi.
The veterans were accompanied by the Governor and representatives of the All Manipur Polo Association and Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association.
The Governor also presented the veterans Rs 10,000 each in acknowledgement of their contribution to the game, it added.
