IMPHAL, March 28: The family of Taorem (n) Thakhellambam (o) Ibemcha of Patsoi has sought justice from the concerned authorities after Ibemcha was found seriously injured and left to die near Sajiwa Jail Road.

Speaking to media persons at the Manipur Press Club, Ibemcha’s brother T Motilal said Ibemcha who is 23 years old was married to Mohen, 35, son of Ango of Chingkhu.

He said they have three children.

He said Ibemcha has been staying at their parents’ home for medical treatment since some days back.

However, on March 19, she left to go to her husband’s house to meet her children, he added.

They had thought she might have reached her home safely and never enquired; however, on March 27 around 5:30pm, Lamlai Police personnel came and informed that Ibemcha was found in a serious condition from near the Kangla Waiting Shed along the Ukhrul Road, he added.

He said that the police was informed by a woman.

Motilal also claimed that she might have been left to die by her in-laws.

He alleged that her in-laws had always tortured her.

Demanding justice, he said Ibemcha has a broken collar bone, leg bone and several other injuries.
