Imphal, April 9: The BJP Manipur today held a grand reception of Union Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra and MoS of MSME Giriraj Singh at the BJP Head office.
Speaking on the occasion, Kalraj said a fragrance and Flavour Development Technology Centre was opened in the State as a gift from the Central government.
He said this will help in solving the unemployment problem in Manipur.
He added the centre is the same as the only such centre in India which is located at Kannauj, UP.
The juice and fragrance of flowers can be extracted at the Centre to make perfumes and fragrances, he said, adding that Manipur has full variety of aromatic and medicinal plants.
He said the BJP Manipur has gain in strength as was evident in the recent civic polls.
He assured that his ministry will provide programmes and projects for municipal councillors and elected panchayat members to the tune of Rs 5 crore and Rs 80 lakhs respectively.
For Agricultural development in the State, the Central government will provide technical method of agriculture through Central University of Agricultures, he said, and added the Prime Minister had launched a Crop Insurance scheme for farmers.
He said that under the Modi government, there is special focus on the Northeast region.
The Council of Ministers has discussed how to develop NE region, he added.
Now, the Centre will provide first priority on improving road connectivity and railway connectivity, he said.
Kalraj said a survey to extend the rail line from Silcher to Moreh was initiated recently.
He said there are several schemes for the poor farmers which include Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana, Zero balance account, Pension schemes, life and accident insurances MUDRA scheme etc. He said the Centre will ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the needy people of Manipur.
He urged the people to bring in a BJP government in the State.
Meanwhile, Giriraj MoS MSME said that the progress of Manipur BJP is noted by the central leaders and it the BJP’s wish to form the next government in the State.
The reception function was also attended by BJP Manipur president Th Choaba, MLA Kh Joykisan and others.
