A large number of bandh supporters came out and blocked road at Pishumthong, Heirangoithong and Langthabal along Imphal-Mayang-Imphal road by placing tree trunks.

The same was also witnessed at Singjamei, Canchipur and Lilong areas. Several good-laden and passenger vehicles were smashed by the bandh supporters for defying the bandh.

However, there is no news of any untoward incidents till the time of filing this report.

Talking about the ongoing bandh to this daily, convener of the JAC Against the Brutal Killing of S Prashanta alias Abung, Ashem Sunil said that the Police Department seems incompetent as it has utterly failed to establish facts behind Prasanta’s death so far.

The JAC convener added that public will suffer more from the series of agitation launched by the JACs if the government continues to ignore its demand.
