IMPHAL, May 23: Womenfolk took out torch rallies in several parts of the Imphal valley this evening under the aegis of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System Women Wing as part of the demand for implementation of the three bills passed by the State Assembly on August 31, 2015.
Speaking to media persons at their office, JCILPS Women Wing convenor Thongam (o) Apabi asserted the political parties are unable to keep their assurances to convert the three bills into Acts.
Apabi said instead of just making assurances, the political parties should start acting on their assurances.
She lamented the State government has failed to take any proper action to speed up the implementation of the three bills.
The government, she said, is neglecting to work for the welfare of the people and the State.
She warned the State politicians to perform their duties properly and warned to even storm the residences of the MLAs and ministers.
