IMPHAL, Jun 4: In the wake of the upcoming elections, recent security threats in Imphal valley and prevailing unrest situation in Manipur, 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) carried out a security meeting at Sawombung village in Imphal East district of with community representatives and village headmen today.
In the meeting it was emphasised that a secure environment is essential for collective growth of the State. Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles and Commandant 45 Assam Rifles were also present during the event, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
The difficulties and turmoil faced by the innocent civilians due to the flash bandhs imposed at odd hours without prior information was also discussed during the meeting. The meeting was attended by over 50 civilians from different villages including village heads and secretaries.
Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles emphasized upon the cordial relations between locals and Assam Rifles and sharing of information, sense of responsibility to be realised by each and every individual.
