IMPHAL, Dec 22: The Khongjom Football Tournament named “SEVEN A SIDE†organized by Khebaching Memorial Youth Club and sponsored by 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) commenced from 12 Dec 2010 and culminated on 21 Dec 2010 at Khebaching Football Ground, Khongjom. UPSC of Wangjing and SUSAL of Langathel played the final match. UPSC, Wangjing team won the final match by defeating SUSAL of Langathel by 5-1 goals. Chief Guest, Commandant 15 Assam Rifles presented gifts and cash prizes to the winning team and the runners-up team. Besides special gifts, cash prize for the Best Player was also given to boost up the moral of players for their performance in the tournament. Cultural program was also organized by the villagers of Khongjom followed by the tug-of-war event.
