IMPHAL, Dec 19 : Taking grave note of the situation in Manipur, the Naga Students’ Federation today resolved to impose a total blockade on all Manipur bound vehicles in the Naga inhabited areas till the Government of Manipur assures the safety and security of Nagas in Manipur.
However NSF will consider relaxing the stricture on students travelling back to Manipur for their vacations, said the student body in a statement.
The decision of the NSF was taken in the backdrop of the alleged destruction caused to the belongings of Naga travellers, torching vehicles carrying Naga passengers and burning down the belongings of students who were on their way back home for the vacation, said the student body.
A group of people under the patronage of the Government of Manipur even went to the extent of vandalizing Churches and stopping members from attending Sunday Church service, it alleged.
