With the aim to spread awareness among local population about the various types of cancers and precautions to be taken, 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted an awareness programme on “Cancer Causes and Precautions” at T M Zummunom village, Chandel district on 10 March 2017.
This programme saw an active participation wherein 74 people including 28 Males, 21 Females and 25 Children attended the event. Special emphasis was laid on avoiding various tobacco products. The Chief Medical Officer of the Unit clarified many queries of the attendees.
Conduct of such events is a mark of altruism and selfless concern of Assam Rifles for the local populace thus living up to its true motto of “Friends of the Manipur”.
