Hand over pending PILs to CBI: LOUSAL

IMPHAL | May 13: The Loumee Shinmee Apunba Lup (LOUSAL) staged a sit-in protest today at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai community hall, here today demanding to hand over the pending PILs against various department of the state in the High Court of Manipur to CBI.

Speaking to the media LOUSAL president Mutum Churamani said that since culture of corruption has been in practice in the state from long back, some people who stand against corruption had filed PILs against many departments of the state to the High Court.

But all the cases remained pending except for the Manipur Development Society the case had been handed over to the CBI, he added.

Churamani said that in order to turn the state into a corruption-free state, the pending PILs against different departments of the state should be handed to the CBI.

He continued that taking the chance of the power and money the VIPs has been buying paddy land for building houses or factories which affect to the growth in agriculture sector of the state.

Churamani added that LOUSAL appealed to the government to withdraw VIP culture from the field area and fully implement the Manipur Conservation of Paddy land and Wetland Act 2014.

At least the state will not depend on other state for food, if the government takes up proper action regarding their appeals, he added.
