LAMKA, Sep 7: Second Rounds of the Khamjessy Memorial Seven Soccer Tournament has started today from 3 pm at Yaiphakol Playground . The tournament has started since the 25th August last.
As many as 43 teams from various localities have participated at the tournament.
T Mangibabu MLA as well as the Chief Whip of the state government attended the second round inauguration today as chief guest. Khaipao Haokip MDC and Semkhomang chief of Misao Lhahvom each were the president while Nilakanta Singh President of the Meitei Youth Organisation , MYO, was the guest of honour at the occasion.
Altogather 43 teams were fraying in the second rounds and 20 teams were shortlisted for the second rounds. Another 6 teams will be selected for the final rounds.
First Prize of the match carry a cash award of Rs 3000/ while it is Rs 2000/ and Rs 1000 respectively for the second and third positions.
Khamjessy Vaiphei was the son of Thiena Vaiphei who has died way back in the year 2009 while reading class X at St Pauls Institute due to cancer.
