IMPHAL, September 11 : On receipt of credible information regarding presence of cadres of PLA/RPF around Samaram village, commandos of Thoubal conducted search operations on select houses today and found one youth hiding in the house of one late Sapam Kulabi Singh of Samaram Mayai Leikai at around 3.40 am. The youth on verification identified himself as Sapam Kanta Singh @ Biramangol, 25, S/o late Kulabi and identified himself as a cadre of the PLA/RPF. On further questioning , he disclosed that he joined the outfit through one Lance Corporal Thangjam Sanjit and got military training at Burma in 2001/02 under army no. 4600 of the Bn 253 .H admitted in taking part in an encounter at Sajik Tampak in 2002 with the Indian army. From his disclosure one .38 pistol was recovered from Salungpham Mamang Leikai near a public pond.He is presently working under the finance section of the outfit under the command of one S/S Major Ravi and S/S Lance Corporal Bobby.
