IMPHAL, Nov 3: The officer in-charge of Imphal West CDO Inspector H Devendra and Additional SP of Imphal West district police Ak Jhaljit, who was earlier summoned by Justice PG Agarwal Commission of Inquiry in connection with July 23 BT Road firing incident, has filed applications for adjournment of the hearing of the Commision scheduled today through their counsels.
The learned counsel of H. Devendra has filed an application to the commission praying to defer the recording of his statement in view of his criminal trial before the Session Judge, Manipur East scheduled on November 12.
With regard to the summon issued to Ak Jhaljit Singh, Senior SP of Imphal West has prayed for adjournment. The learned counsels for both sides have prayed for two weeks time for hearing.
The next hearing of the Commission has been scheduled on November 19. It may be mentioned that the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, New Delhi has submitted the forensic reports of the photographs published in the Tehelka magazine in connection with the BT Road firing incident in which one former UG cadre Ch. Sanjit and a pregnant woman Th. Rabina were killed.
The criminal trial in connection with this incident will also begin from November 12 before the Session Judge, Manipur East as per the chargesheet filed by the CBI against nine accused police personnel including Inspector H. Devendra and OC of City Police Inspector Y. Munal.
