IMPHAL, Dec 4: The MPP president Dr. Nimaichand Luwang today strongly lamented that Government of India and the Secular Progressive Front government in Manipur is planning to disintegrate the territorial integrity of Manipur by organising a tripartite talk at Senapati district headquarter yesterday with Nagas of Manipur.

The MMP president stated this during a press conference held today at the MPP office.

During the meet, Dr. Nimaichand Luwang said that the talk amounts to ‘pouring oil in burning fire’ by the government of India as well as by the state disregarding the tense situation arising out of the demand of the Nagas to bring them together under one administrative unit.

While condemning the talks in the strongest terms, the MPP president stated that yesterday’s tripartie talk was a threat to the territorial integrity of Manipur.

The MPP leader demanded the concerned authorities to clarify the agenda of talk which was held with the demand for alternative arrangment of the UNC which is similar to the demand of the NSCN(IM).

The MPP president mentioned that as reported in newspapers and television it is learnt that the talks is on the issue of union territory and state hood.

The development has taken the people by surprise as the state government’s contribution in the talks has clearly shown that the SPF government is also among those trying to disintegrate the state.

Dr. Nimaichand further said that his party has sent a letter to the AICC chief Sonia Gandhi in this regard questioning and awaiting reply on the stand of Congress party and clarify that the agreement as reached between the Government of India and the Naga rebel in 1972 as null and void so that no further conflagration takes place in Manipur regarding territorial integrity question.

People of Manipur as well the MPP will be compelled to believe that the Congress party still support the Naga Integration Movement to create confusion in the minds of the people of Manipur, adds Nimaichand Luwang.

About the issue of arrest of UNLF chairman RK Sanayaima, (Meghen), the MPP president said it is a drama stage by the Government of India and Manipur government. The MPP maintained that Meghen was clearly shown in BBC news as well in other news report saying he was arrested by a combined team of India and Bangladesh intelligence agencies but his arrest in Bihar was drama played by India government to confus the people. The MPP is surprised to know that the state home department official was also involved in Meghen’s arrest in Bangladesh, he added.

Concealing of arrested person for more than 60 days by Indian government clearly shows that the Government of India is not interested in solving conflcit in Manipur politically, said The MPP president.
