IMPHAL Dec 23 : The Revolutionary Peoples’ Front (RPF) greets the state on the eve of the Christmas festival and the coming new year. A press statement by the outfit’s publicity secretary T. Leisemba in a press release states that the need of the hour is for all the communities to live a peaceful co-existence . As the spirit of Christmas is celebrated by the Christian community of the state , both the valley and the hills need to conjoin in the real spirit of love and peace.
The release further states that communal tension have brought nothing but destruction and the state have seen the façade of such events in the past , lessons need to be learnt from such tragic happenings so as to take up preventive measures in future. Fratricidal killings are against the norms of any religion specially Christianity and Jesus have died for the sake of righteousness and free spirit.
The outfit wishes the communities of the state to herald the spirit of the festival and to make the coming new year 2011 mark the beginning of a new era.
