COTA to resort to hunger strike unto death

IMPHAL, Jan 7: The action committee meeting of the Council of Teachers’ Association (COTA) today decided to intensify their agitation by resorting to fast unto death agitation from January 19 this month if the state government fails to meet their demand for the implementation of sixth Central revised pay by January 18 next.
The action committee meeting of the COTA which convened today at Ananda Singh Higher Secondary school, minutely discussed the ongoing agitations of the COTA in connection with the implementation of sixth Central Revised pay in toto for the teachers.
Further, the meeting today strongly expressed unsatisfactory to the working style of the state education minister L Jayantakumar Singh who have failed to deliver welfare activities of both teachers and students communities of the state. The meeting also further observed that the state existing state education minister seem unable to felt his responsibilities of being leader and condemned the failures of education minister unable to felt the efforts of the teacher community demanding implementation of sixth Central Revise pay in toto which is purely welfare for the future teachers community.
The action committee meeting of COTA today anonymously resolved to enter fast unto death agitation from January 19 this month if the state government fails to issued official order for the implementation of sixth Central Revised pay in toto within January 18, further the meeting also resolved to tender mass resignations by the government teachers if their demands are not fulfilled even after series of their agitations.
