IMPHAL, Jan 24: The Council of Teachers Association (COTA) has informed that teachers from primary level to higher secondary will accept census duty only after demands are fulfilled.
At the same time, teachers on census duty work out from census operation that was launched at Ukhrul, Senapati, Saikul, and Tamenglong, further informed the COTA.
A statement issued by Sheik Sirajuddin Shah, Convener Publicity COTA, said that teachers has been conducting census duty and will continue to do so. However it asserted that the teachers from primary till secondary standard will accept census duty this time only after the Government converts the Mou signed between with the COTA into action adding they will continue to stage work out from their duty, it further adds.
Meanwhile, the third phase of the ongoing fast unto death staged by the COTA at Keishampat Junction has begun from today.
It said that 18 teachers including two teachers each from Senapati and Jiribam took part in the fast unto death. Besides that it further informed that a meeting is also convene tomorrow to discuss matters on mounting strong pressure on Government adding teachers from various corners of hill districts will be coming to Imphal.
