IMPHAL, Feb 21: Altogether 300 delegates of All India Trade Union Congress, (AITUC), Manipur is going to participate in the historic mass protest of the working people at the National Capital `March to Parliament` on February 23, 2011.
The march organized by the All India Trade Union Congress, central unit, is against what they called corrupt capitalist system, soaring prices and anti-working people policies pursued by the government. The protest in the National capital is expected to witness participation of lakhs of workers of various state units under the AITUC and biggest ever.
Briefing media persons in this regards at Irawat Bhawan, Imphal, general secretary of the AITUC, Manipur, L. Sotinkumar, said that of the three 300 delegates intended to joint the protest 200 delegates are camping in the National capital adding 50 more had left today and the remaining 50 delegates will leave Imphal tomorrow.
The general secretary disclosed that the AITUC, Manipur will continue to pledge their undying support in the fight adding the AITUC central unit delegates during the protest will directly approach the speaker of the Parliament and submit a memorandum in relation with the matter.
