    IMPHAL, Feb 23: 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) constructed and inaugurated a water supply scheme under `Assam Rifles Military Civic Action Project` on February 21, at Hengkot village of Chandel District.
    The PRO IGAR in a release said that the Water Supply Scheme was inaugurated by the Commandant 37 Assam Rifles in presence of village authorities and local gathering, in order to provide safe and Hygienic drinking water. Assam Rifles also provided one water storage tank to Phaiphenkot village. Earlier the villagers had to fetch water, approximately 3 kms away from the villages. With implementation of this scheme, clear drinking water is now available to the villages at their doorstep.
    Also 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) presented 10 Home Solar Lights to Sibol Joupi village on 22 Feb 2011 under `Assam Rifles Military Civics Action Project` in a simple ceremony. Sibol Joupi is located in the Indo-Myanmar border where infrastructure development is in a very primitive state, since there is no electricity in the village.
