IMPHAL, Feb 23: At least two militant cadres were arrested from separate counter insurgency operations launched by security forces.
In the first incident, troops of 15 Assam Rifles of 9 sector under HQ IGAR (S) arrested one cadre of the proscribed KCP (MC) from the general area of Ningel of Thoubal district, while conducting an operation at about 3 am today. The individual was identified as Kh Gunamani Singh, 42 yrs, s/o Kh Naran Singh of Ningel and was handed over to Yairipok Police station, said a statement of the PRO IGAR (S).
A statement of the SSP Thoubal district police, said that a team of the district commandos have arrested a cadre of the proscribed RPF/PLA yesterday at around 4pm while conducting frisking and checking at Tangjeng area.
The individual have been identified as one Ningthoujam Romio Singh alias Naoba alias Jungle Boy, 19, s/o N. Sudam Singh of Heirok Part-II.
It said on questioning, the individual disclosed that he is an active member of RPF/PLA organization. Further he revealed that he joined the outfit in the month of March, 2010 through one S/S corporal Binam Singh of Tripura and trained at Nongket, Myanmar under army No. 2951.
