Accused in security guard killing case booked

    IMPHAL, March 5: Police has achieved a breakthrough in the kidnapping and sequent murder of a security guard of Aircel Tower, as the two accused involved in the case have been arrested after a thorough investigation.

    The Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur district, Jayenta, in a statement informed that the accused involved in case, FIR No. 8(2)2011 BPR-PS u/s 364-A/302 IPC, 20 UA(P)A. Act’ 04, in the kidnapping and subsequently killing of Khumdrakpam Thouba Singh, s/o Kh. Ningthemjao Singh of Nachou Kha Leikai, security guard of Aircel Tower located at Nachou, have been formally arrested after having finished an investigation into the case.

    The accused identified as Moirangthem Boboy Singh, 30, s/o (L) M. Khamba Singh of Kumbi and Ningthoujam (N) Nongmaithem (O) Romabati Devi alias Romapati alias Chittra alias Rebita, 39, w/o Nongmaithem Mohendra Singh of Kumibi Awang Khunou are presently kept in police custody in connection with FIR No. 7(2)2011 KUB-PS u/s364-A IPC, 20 UA(P)A. Act’04 and 25(1)A. Act.It said that during the investigation, it has been revealed that the two individuals were the one who called out the deceased Thouba Singh from his house on February 2, 2011 and kidnapped him and subsequently killed the security guard at Naraseina Maning on February 9, 2011.
