Book on Thangta to be released


    IMPHAL, Mar 30: In a landmark development towards preserving the dying ancient tradition art form of Thang-ta, a unique book based on the “Thang Hairol” will soon be released in the month of the May this year, compiled by Leitanthem Heramod, a prominent master in the field of Thangta martial arts.
    A press meet was held yesterday at the Emoinu Hotel opposite Heecham Yaicham Pat on the issue.
    Leitanthem Heramod, speaking at the press meet stated that this book will help generate youths today. Moreover the book also can be use as the syllabus up to university level but it needs expert’s analysis.
    Further L. Heramod  mention that on the day of the released of his book he will demonstrate the steps of Thang Hairol. The book “Thang Hairol” contains two Volumes (Vol. I&II) and it cost Rs. 800 per book.
    He announced that the book will be distributed free of cost on the day of the released for the people who are really interested in the Thangta Martial arts.
    Heramod further elaborated that the book contains six syllabuses which included the “Thangbi Sakok Sading”, “Thangbi Sakok Nunglon”, “Thangbi Sakok Landailon”, “Athou Macha”, “Athou Loimon” and “Athou Yangbi”. The book also contain diagram depicting various steps and moves.
    Clarifying on his motive to give away the book free of cost, he maintained that there are some people who could not afford for their education and all the enthusiastic students are mostly of poor family background.
