Local clubs are centre of non-formal education: Y. Irabot

IMPHAL, March 7: “Local clubs are centre of non-formal Education” said, Sericulture minister, Y. Irabot during an inauguration function of newly constructed building of the New Checkon Youth Club, (NCYC) at Imphal East district.
The inauguration function was held today at the clubs ground New Checkon. The Sericulture minister graced the function as the chief guest and inaugurated the function.
The inaugural function was attended by Works minister, K. Ranjit, councilor of ward number 22, Thangkolam Touthang, German president of the NCYC.
While delivering his chief guest speech the Sericulture minister while stressing the role of local clubs stated that “Local clubs are centre of non-formal activities”.
The minister maintained that in the context of Manipur society local clubs plays a significant in many essential activities of a particular areas and as well as in shaping up the society. From basic needs like distributing PDS items, sports, education to solving land disputes clubs have become a part of the life.
However to maintain the essence of being a good club this implementing body needs unity, discipline, sincerity etc., said Y. Irabot Singh.
The works minister who also spoke during the function also stressed the need and role of the local clubs. A souvenir of the NCYC was also released by the chief guest.
