IMPHAL, March 13: In its continued effort to reach out and help masses, 42 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) and Headquarters 26 Sector Assam Rifles constructed a Temporary Primary School Shed at Liwa Khullen village, one of the remotest villages of Chandel District, Manipur as welfare measures to impart education to poor children of the village and adjoining areas who could not afford to go town for study.
A statement of the PRO IGAR (S), said the primary school has been constructed under its military civic action project and was handed over to the villagers on March 11. The village Chief and civil administration expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for providing such a useful asset to the village, it added.
